The Red Lion is an attractive detached traditional public house in Linton Village in South Derbyshire surrounded by The National Forest. It consists of a primary school, a convenience store with a post office, a local primary school church and a village hall. Linton, like the other towns in the area, has expanded considerably over the last few years but the 'Red Lion' is now the only pub in the village.

The pub has a very cosy and traditional feel to it. Thick exposed stone walls and wood panelling in several small, cosy rooms with a roaring fire, create a comfortable and inviting atmosphere. There is a medium-sized bar and fixed seating, accommodating approximately 40 covers. The small snug has fixed seating and a traditional patterned carpet; this could be used as a dining area for 20 covers. A passageway leads to doors opening to the beer garden. The trade kitchen has basic equipment and could be utilised to offer bar snacks or a simple menu.

The property sits up from the main road, with steps up from the car park to the front of the pub. At the rear, there is a large fully enclosed grassed beer garden with a play area to one side.
